Men’s Basketball

Carter-Finley Booth

Various times of the year. Fundraising opportunity for Sunday school classes and other church ministries through concession stand sales at Carter-Finley Stadium. (This is a Sunday School mission project.) Contact Bob Warner

Christian Singles Fellowship (CSF)

CSF offers Christian fellowship opportunities in a Christian atmosphere for single adults of all ages. CSF features outings such as hiking, attending sporting events, dining out and picnics at the park. Contact Lori Millette at lorijmillette@aol.com   

CrossTrailers Square Dancers

Join us for square dancing on Thursdays at 7:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall. The various square dance steps are based on the steps used in traditional folk dances and social dances of the various people who migrated to the USA. Some of these traditional dances include Morris dance, English Country Dance, and the quadrille. Square dancing is enjoyed by people around the world, and people around the world are involved in the continuing development of this dance. New members must have lessons. Beginner classes are offered occasionally throughout the year. Contact Sydna Martin

Football Fellowship for Christ

Football Fellowship for Christ at our church is an affinity group made up of former college football players who desire to use sports as a way to do evangelistic outreach to the community.  Contact Rev. William Green

Just Older Youth (JOY)

This fellowship group for adults age 60+ meets on the third Thursday of each month for activities ranging from a trip to the zoo, a lunch at the K&S cafeteria with a speaker, a trip to Camp Chestnut Ridge for a day apart, or a trip to a local museum. The JOY Banquet is planned for September and a Flu Shot Social is featured in the fall in conjunction with our Health Ministries Fair. The group also enjoys periodic overnight trips to places of interest. The JOY Breakfast Bunch meets the fourth Thursday of every month at 8:30 am at Mimi’s Café on Walnut Street in Cary. Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS)

Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) is open to all mothers-to-be and mothers of children that are newborn to age-5. MOPS is a great way to meet other mothers and discuss the challenges and triumphs faced each day as a mom. MOPS is open to members and non-members of FUMCC. Mothers socialize for the first half-hour, then enjoy a program that may include a speaker or video, a craft and discussion time. Children attend their own program (MOPPETS) and are cared for by thoughtfully hired caregivers.

Prayer Breakfast
 

Tuesdays at 7:00 am at Melba’s Restaurant in Cary. Men and women of all ages meet to share prayer concerns and pray for those in need. Contact Linda Hodges

Softball (Men’s)

Spring and Fall. Come join the FUMCC softball team. We play in both the Spring and Fall.  Contact church office

State Fair Booth

October (2 weeks) at the State Fairgrounds. Come join us for food, fun and fellowship at the State Fair. Youth through adults of all ages are welcome to participate. Our food booth is operated at the NC State Fair every October. The booth is a full-service restaurant, which is a ministerial outreach of the church providing fellowship among the members and is the church’s largest source of revenue outside of the annual budget. Jobs include: recruiting and organizing the volunteers, managing shifts, cooking, waiting tables, cleaning, providing transportation and baking.  Contact Jeanette Bell

United Methodist Men

Second Saturday of each month, 8:00 – 9:30 am in the Fellowship Hall. You are invited to be an active member of the FUMCC United Methodist Men - a great group of men whose mission is “to proclaim the Good News and live according to the example of Christ through our work in the ministries of the church and through our fellowship with others.” We meet on the second Saturday of each month for fun, food and fellowship in the FUMCC Fellowship Hall. Our meeting starts with the best breakfast in town for $5.00 at 8:00 am and usually ends around 9:30 am.  First-timers enjoy the breakfast FREE!! United Methodist Women

First United Methodist Women is open to any woman, church member or not, who indicates a desire to belong and participate in the global mission of the church. There is no requirement to join a sub-group (circle) to be an active member of the United Methodist Women. However, there are nine circles of women who meet once a month to promote the work of the United Methodist Women in a variety of ways. General Unit meetings are held quarterly, when all meet together for fellowship and a program. Contact Joyce Moxley, UMW President.

Wednesday Fellowship Feast

Wednesdays at 6:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall beginning in September and going to early May. Enjoy dinner with your friends in Christ and make new friends! Cost is $7 for adults, $5 for senior adults and $3 for children, with a max of $20 for a family. This is a great fundraising opportunity for Sunday school classes and other church ministries.
