Staff Lori Barmer is our Communications Coordinator. Lori is from Aulander, North Carolina and attended Chowan University in Murfreesboro, North Carolina, where she completed a course in graphic arts. She then moved to Huntington, West Virginia, and attended Marshall University to study commercial arts, while working in the art department of an area printing company. Lori has a love for graphics design! She enjoys spending time with her daughter, Lea, singing in the Chancel Choir, gardening, and playing with her cats, Jerry and Squio. Christie Brown is the Program Coordinator of Children's Ministries. She has been a church member since 2005. Christie is married to Jonathan Brown, and has boy/girl twins, Colton and Caleigh. Christie is a graduate from NC State University, with a business management degree with concentration in marketing and communications. Christie grew up in Burlington, NC. She worked for many years in Corporate Credit and Collections for Qualex, Inc. (division of Kodack, Durham, NC). Kim Chestnutt is the Middle School Coordinator for Youth Ministry. Kim grew up at FUMCC and was very active with the youth program - MYF, choir, drama, and mission. Kim's love of mission started when she went on our church's first ASP trip to Sneedsville, TN and later serving on the ASP summer staff. Kim has served as a youth counselor since college. Patti Cook, Director of Children's Music, accompanies our children's choirs and other choirs as needed. She was born in Alamance County, NC and received a degree in Music Education from UNC-Greensboro, where she met her husband, Floyd. Prior to coming to FUMC, she taught music in schools and piano lessons to individuals and, more recently, worked as a dental assistant while she continues to teach piano and voice lessons. Elizabeth Curtis is our Financial Administrator. She is a native of North Carolina and settled in Cary after graduating from Meredith College in 1988. Upon graduation, worked for Wachovia Bank until leaving to stay at home full time with her children. Elizabeth has been a member since 1994 and has been involved in various ministries of the church over the past 17 years. Elizabeth is married to Grason and has three children; Sydney, Zachary and Colby. When not at work Elizabeth loves watching her kids play sports, reading, and spending times with family and friends. Jason Darden is the High School Coordinator for Youth Ministry. Jason is passionate about youth ministry and has attended the National Youth Worker's Convention. He leads youth Big Group, oversees our high school MYF program, teaches youth Sunday School, and leads the DISCiples small group. He also plays a large role in our local Chrysalis community. Patty Gothard is the Administrative Assistant to the Youth Ministry . She has been at FUMC since 2003 and was a registered nurse prior to joining the FUMCC staff. She has a B.S. in Nursing from UNC-Chapel Hill and is originally from Kannapolis, NC. Patty is married to Evan Gothard and has three daughters, Erin, Rachel and Sarah. Stacy Harrell is the Director of Children's Ministry for the church. She's been a church member since 2006. She earned a BA in Political Science from NC State University and enjoyed a career in software project management prior to serving at the church. Originally from Northern Virginia by way of Durham, NC, Stacy now lives in Raleigh with her husband Mike, and their son Michael Paul. Stacy loves spending time at the beach. Christine Hildebrand is our Director of Leadership Development. She’s been a church member since 1997. She earned a BA in Accounting from NC State University and enjoyed a career in corporate accounting prior to serving at our church. Originally from Burlington, NC, Christine now lives in Cary with her husband, Greg and their two daughters, Emma and Lily. Brent Hubbell is the Celebration! Music Leader. A native of the New England area he earned a MM degree from Appalachian State University and a Master of Musicology degree from the University of Tennessee. Brent has taught in the public school system, owned his own piano tuning and teaching business, and has served as staff accompanist at Mt Olive College. He has served as Music Director in churches in North Carolina and Virginia. Brent lives in Cary with his wife Sara, and their children Hannah and Sam. Kelli Kosuda is the Creative Program Coordinator for Children's Ministries. Kelli leads Sunday morning worship for the children. She also leads Small Talk on Wednesday nights. Kelli is from Goldsboro, NC and graduated from Mount Olive College in 2011 with a B.A. in Religion and Theology, and is currently a full-time student at Duke Divinity School pursuing her masters in Theological Studies.
Terese Lamm is the Administrative Assistant to Christian Formation at First United Methodist Church-Cary. She first began working at FUMC in 2006, and has been active as a member for 18 years. She has a BS in Electrical Engineering from N.C. State and worked for many years at IBM, Tekelec and as a computer teacher at GRACE Christian School in Raleigh. Terese is married to Randy Lamm and has three children; Stephanie, Rachel and Trevor.

David F. Marlette is Director of Music Ministry at First United Methodist Church-Cary. He has a B.A. in Music Education from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC with a major concentration in voice, has accumulated several years of continuing education with Music and Liturgical Arts Week and has pursued graduate studies at SMU/Perkins School of Theology in Church Music. Prior to his work at FUMCC, he was an educator in the public school system. David is originally from Graham, NC. He is married to Phyllis and has one son, Jonathan. Marvin McCracken is the Facilities Manager at FUMCC. Marvin has been a member of the congregation since 1994. Marvin is married to Joan McCracken and they have three sons and one daughter. Marvin loves to go hunting, spend time with his family, and building things. Marvin built the bookshelves that hold our Music Library in David Marlette's office and our new Curriculum Library in room 213. Marvin has been a line judge for the Cary High School IMPS football team for over 30 years. He also loves a good yellow cake with chocolate frosting!

Alicia Shelton Alicia Shelton is the Director of the Methodist Children’s Center. She has been a member of FUMC since 2007. Alicia graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BS in Design. Additionally she has earned an Early Childhood Administrative Credential and an Early Childhood Teaching Credential. Alicia was born in North Wilkesboro, NC where she worked for Lowe’s Companies for 13 years developing store layouts and planograms. After moving to Greensboro, she began working with the Greensboro Montessori School. Alicia lives in Apex with her husband Ken, son Merrick and daughter Macrae. Nicholas VanHorn Nick, Director of Youth Ministry, comes to us from Winston-Salem with his wife, Dana, and his two daughters, Eleanore and Audrey. He has a Bachelor’s in Youth Ministry as well as a degree from Christian Education and a Masters of Divinity from Duke University, where he was in the same study group as Rev. Colin Snider. Al Zimmerman is the Kitchen Manager at FUMCC. He is also a chef at SAS. Al helps to create our Fabulous Fellowship Feast dinners and makes awesome "Southern Sweet Tea"! He is originally from New York. Al loves to spend time at the beach with his family!
